Last Saturday, JFA held a picnic in Queensbridge Park.
There was plenty of food, music & good company..
..and performances by our youth!
We also asked community members to complete two statements:
- My favorite thing about my community is…
- My Community needs…
Community members had a lot of responses.
Their favorite thing about their community included: low, sweet people, the park, the community, low income housing, my family, the children, the elder people, diversity, programs for youth & hope.
Their community needs included: respect, investment, more parks and schools, a swimming pool, new buildings, no violence, and unity & kindness.
There were a few other quotes that are worth mentioning, though they didn’t speak directly to the prompts given:
- Knowledge is power!!!
- Love is the one thing that will bring us together.
- I love Queens always!
